Zuzana Gulová (sfera ensemble)
During I-Portunus mobility sféra Geigenconsort Bremen researched compositional aspects and musical characteristics of renaissance composer Alexander Agricola (1446-1506) and his contemporaries. The goal of mobility sféra became transformation the outcome of experimental research into a concert series played on a set of historically built recorders. Because one of the ensemble members lives in Bremen (Laura Dümpelmann), and there are other ensembles with similar interests, this project became a great opportunity to share and exchange work and approach to renaissance polyphony not only with the concert audience but also with specialized colleagues.
We learned that there should be no limits to the creativity and goals that we set up for our ensemble because, with enough time, motivation, and flexibility one can reach more than he/she thinks. Additionally, we explored new instruments including a new recorder set and reed instrument as the shawm and dulcian. This strengthened our belief to be more flexible instrumentalists. Through this, we hope to increase the dynamic of our performances
