Maria Glionna and Audrey Dupont (HeARTh project)
Maria and Audrey took the opportunity in the Architecture sector to learn more about Eco construction and Self-Building practices with Collectif Building Social Resilience – Casalina. They make their wish come true, namely the HeARTh project.
HeARTh is a project for building supporting infrastructures to the agricultural work and products transformation for the hosting Association, such us exterior kitchen, solar dryer, rocket stove, pot zeer. The objective is to achieve the construction with the sole use of natural materials available on site and low-tech building techniques.
The workshop was extremely interesting for Audrey and I, we learnt how to handle the unpredictable natural materials and many sustainable building techniques . The Architect we invited as project leader, Marine Dupont, has a deep knowledge and understanding of these materials and techniques and having the chance to work with her on site was for us a very valuable experience ! The workshop organised during week 3 of the project gave us the opportunity to spread the know-how and show the techniques to the volunteers from the hosting association, which will now be able to continue building their infrastructures with straw and earth, two materials that are extremely abundant on their agricultural site, free to use, sustainable, and successfully robust!
