Gilles Toutevoix started research on Real Time Composition in dance around three intertwining focuses: listening, practicing, performing. He collaborates with choreographers Mark Tompkins and Meg Stuart and they shared practical research in Arbecey 2017, Vienna 2018 and Berlin 2019. Gilles Toutevoix began to document and collect audiovisual material exchanging with them in the context of labs with dancers.
His mobility to Poland was the next decisive step for the good evolution of his project. With a group of international artists he went to Burdag for a 15-day research lab with Meg Stuart. Toutevoix intended to pursue his research and to collect material with this group in the context of savage countryside. His goal was to film in a context radically different.
I reached my objective developing an artistic collaboration with highly professional and international artists. I made my video about « real time composition » and performances, and this will lead me to a next step to go deeper in the subject in order to finalize my movie.
