International residential workshop in Italy
The project that La Compagnia di Arti e Mestieri has been carrying out for several years with director Nikos Goudanakis on Greek theater aims to unravel the origins of our human and social conflicts.
One of the most emblematic texts in this perspective is “The Eumenides” by Aeschylus, in which for the first time the principle of majority, the basis of Western democracy, is applied in decisions.
The purpose of the workshop is to analyze and perform the play with a creative process that bring together different practices and theatrical styles, from the traditional western theatre to the European contemporary theatre and to the improvisation. The students will be able to experience original and innovative paths with the purpose of recreate the Greek theatre in a specific theatrical space of a mountain village, discovering its exceptional modernity.
